Release the Anxiety That Paralyses Your Body and Keeps You Stuck in Life

When Fear Freezes the Body

It was 4 a.m. when Carla looked out of the window as the car silently drove through the empty streets.
The cutting cold air outside didn’t bother her. All she wanted to know was whether her mum would survive this time.

Unexpected trips to the hospital had become her new reality.
Her mum was gravely ill, and although Carla couldn’t imagine life without her, she couldn’t bring herself to say those words aloud.
They were too painful even to think about.

Who could she talk to?
Her mum, who was just as scared and drained?
Her dad, who could barely cope with everything?

So, she kept it all inside.

The Body Remembers What the Mind Tries to Forget

Months passed, then years. Slowly, her mum recovered fully.
Carla was only nine when that incident turned her world upside down.
By the time she was thirteen, life seemed to have returned to normal. The ordeal was almost forgotten.

But the body doesn’t forget what the mind tries to bury.

“Our nervous system holds the stories our mind can’t yet face.”

When Anxiety Isn’t About the Present

Fifteen years later, as an adult, Carla began experiencing severe panic attacks.
She felt terrified most of the time and didn’t understand why.

That’s when she reached out for therapy.

Her panic attacks had started after a sharp pain in her lower back.
Medical tests showed nothing wrong, yet her body was in constant alarm.

How the Body Stores and Releases Trauma

In therapy, we discovered that the traumatic experience of her mum’s illness had been stored in her body.
Even though her mind had moved on, her body still remembered.

The trigger was the physical sensation that something wasn’t right, a reminder of an old fear her nervous system hadn’t yet released.

Healing came when we gently processed that trauma and released the stuck energy.
Understanding wasn’t enough; Carla had to feel and let go of what her younger self couldn’t handle at the time.

Integrating trauma is a process.
Once that trapped energy is released, the nervous system returns to safety and calm.

Healing Is Possible; Your Body Knows the Way

If anxiety takes over and you can’t understand why, it might be your body remembering something it’s finally ready to release.

Your body is wise and strong. Stronger than you can imagine.
You’ll discover your true resilience and inner power when you reconnect with it.

As a therapist and trauma survivor myself, I work holistically with body, mind, and spirit, guiding you safely back home to yourself — the place where your resources, wisdom, and beauty live.

Ready to Begin Your Healing Journey?

If you recognise yourself in Carla’s story and are ready to explore how trauma may live in your body, I offer holistic therapy sessions that integrate mind, body, and spirit.
